Mariana Proença is a coffee expert. She started in the world of coffee as a journalist in 2006, when she became the Chief Editor of Espresso Magazine, a Brazilian pioneer publication specialized in quality coffees, being editor of more than 60 editions. Beyond that, she was ahead of many projects recognized in the coffee field, such as: Guia de Cafeterias do Brasil, Semana Internacional do Café (SIC), CaféPoint, among other projects.

In 2022, she launched her personal brand: Mariana Proença. Bringing all the knowledge of all those years in the coffee world, she started her new journey as a journalist, consultant, event curator, speaker and communicator specialized in coffee.
As her cousin, she invited me to design her new brand. And of course I said yes!

The challenge was design a brand such as Mariana: full of joy, confidence, knowledge and passion when it comes to coffee. She needed something modern and funny, without losing seriousness.

While I was studying Mariana's portfolio, I met her project called "Café Logo Existo" (eng: Coffee, therefore I am). The naming comes from a joke between the famous quote from the french philosopher and mathematician René Descartes "Penso, logo existo" (eng: I think, therefore I am) and those people who can only do their chores after a cup of coffee in the morning.

For many years it was her column at Espresso Magazine and then I suggest to turn it into a blog at her new website. Due to that, she also needed a logo for the project connected to her own brand.

Below is Mariana Proença's branding.
